Below you will find a variety of Arts and Crafts classes for youths and adults currently being offered by the Town of Leesburg Parks and Recreation Department. Each class is lead by an experienced instructor. We have arts and crafts classes for parents and toddlers, youth, adults, and seniors. Register for these classes on WebTrac

Adventures in Art
(Ages 5-8) Join us as we experience our very own adventures in art. Students will explore a rich variety of art media from week to week. Previous art experience is not necessary, but an imagination is a must! Bring a drawing tablet to class. 4, 45-minute classes.

Clay Creations
(Ages 7-10) Students will learn basic sculpting methods by forming simple shapes and putting them together to form more complicated figures. Participants will make bears, dogs, cats, tigers, dinosaurs, and much more. Have fun and be creative and imaginative with clay. No class 11/27. 3, 45-minute classes.

First Stitches – Beginners Sewing (NEW!)
(Ages 7-12) Learn sewing by hand stitching and on a machine. Learn basic knowledge of machines, how to read a pattern, layout of pattern and cutting. You may bring your own machine and sewing supplies (recommended) or share class supplies. Parents are encouraged to stay and observe and even lend a helping hand! Sewing – American Girl® Doll Clothes
(Ages 7 & Up) Make an American Girl® doll PJ’s for you and your doll to match! Participants must have some prior sewing knowledge or an adult helper. Pattern, material, thread, and snaps will be supplied. A sewing machine will be available, however, participants are encouraged to bring their own machines. No class 11/2. 5, 90-minute classes.

Young Rembrandts™ Anime Workshop (NEW!)
(Ages 9-15) Come explore the world of Anime. Learn how to draw cartoons in the Anime style, creating your own original characters. Use a variety of facial expressions, action and movement, to illustrate scenes. On the final class, pull from what was learned throughout the session to draw a large comic book scene Anime style. No class 11/25. 6, 1-hour classes.

Young Rembrandts™ Junior Princess Workshop (NEW!)
(Ages 4-7) Everybody loves to play dress-up! In this workshop each ‘princess’ will learn to draw themselves in “glamour” wear. Draw accessories including: purses, crowns and jewelry. For the last class, participants will revisit the previous classes and draw figures wearing fancy gowns with a variety of accessories. 6, 1-hour classes.

Young Rembrandts™ Preschool Drawing Academy
(Ages 3-5) Young students are eager to learn and a joy to teach. This class will provide a nurturing and strong learning environment that expands preschooler’s image vocabulary as they draw familiar images such as fish, teddy bears, rainbows and cowboys. Your child will concentrate on the skills of drawing and coloring while we develop fine motor skills, patience, and spatial organization. 6, 1-hour classes.

Young Rembrandts™ Elementary Drawing

Crocheting Afghans
(Ages 16 & up) This class will look at the different stitches and methods often used in crocheting Afghans. Students should already have a basic knowledge of crochet stitches. Students will learn various patterned stitches and granny square patterns. By the end of the session, participants should be able to take what they learned and create their own Afghans. 5, 2-hour classes.
