SE/SW Trails Executive Summary

Throughout the latter half of 2006, staff from The Department of Parks and Recreation, assisted by Staff from the Department of Planning and Zoning, worked with a trails committee of 11 citizens appointed by Town Council. The appointment of this committee, initiated by a recommendation from the Planning Commission, was done in an effort to address the perceived shortage of usable pedestrian trails in the SE and SW quadrants. The committee was charged with examining the existing trail network and making recommendations for additions and /or modifications to the trails network. The committee convened on May 24, 2006 and met regularly throughout the summer and fall. Their efforts resulted in a Final Report that was presented to Town Council on November 28, 2006. A team of town staff is currently evaluating the report to determine possible implementation strategies.
